Gainsborough Hardware Industries was established in 1969, in Melbourne, Australia, specialising in the design, production and distribution of an extensive range of decorative door hardware.
Gainsborough enjoys a prominent share of the Australian hardware market, and exports to over 26 countires. Gainsborough is now a world leader in the manufacture of porcelain door furniture which is complimented by a comprehensive range of brass, crystal, acrylic, stoneware and timber designs.
Re-invented
The brand has re-invented itself over the years, manipulating emerging fashions to offer, amongst others, wallpaper matched decals in the 1980s, cut crystal designs in the 1990s, and varying chrome finishes to bring in the new millennium.
Gainsborough's commitment to quality ensures that new products are rigourously tested under conditions that simulate their normal life expectancy to ensur product longevity, whilst maintaining aesthetic appeal. Gainsborough is Lloyds Register accredited to international standard ISO9001 for design, manufacture and distribution.
New distribution partnership
Gainsborough has been distributed in the UK for over 25 years. A new distribution partnership was forged with a leading UK distributor in 2003 to re-invigorate the brand in the UK market. As a result, new ranges of stylish chrome and satin chrome knobs and levers have been recently launched.
The key features of the Gainsborough product include: easily interchangeable backplates for increased consumer choice, revolutionary easy fit concealed privacy adaptors with panic release and emergency release, finish matched accessories, unique spindle and latch configuration for optimal fitting/operation.
The portfolio has shifted from floral patterns on Knob Furniture to clean cut finishes in Porcelain, Zinc, Timber, and Crystal. New patterns of Levers are currently being introduced and showcased on this website. These will include Crystal, Porcelain and Zinc Door Levers on Rose.
